    Default Philpott walleye trip


    Hit Philpott for the first time this season yesterday. We caught 16 walleye with 5 keppers from 18-20 inches. they were on main lake points from 15-18fow. we were usin spinner rigs with nite crawlers, trollin 1.2-1.5mph. also caught a 10 inch Yellow perch, two channel cats an several big brim. a great day on the water an the makins of a great fish fry!!!

    ive heard walleye some outstanding eating but never had 1
    My wife swears I only do enough surveying to support my hunting & fishing because I'm too busy hunting & fishing !

    Great report Doc!!!Whats the deal with the walleye in Lake Gaston. Have you ever targeted them or is the lake so-so?

    Doc 1 in 3 keepers any tags? I need to get on down there about Full moon in August and up the count. Great catch and stay on them.

    Great catch and good eating but where are the pictures? We need pictures Doc, keeps us going.

    Walleye, in Michigan, many restaurants that have a Friday Fish Fry serve walleye, It is one of the best white, firm, and flakey fish that you will find. If you ever get a chance to try it, do so, you won't regret it. B-

    Jimb, the whiteperch worry you to death fishin for walleye on Gaston. leaddog, one tag. Anchorman, I don't take pics of every catch, can't afford it! plus I haven't learned to post them. genec, the water is very clear an the lake is full pool.
