Default Traveling to va to fish any advice

I will be leaving Boilingsprings Pa to do some fishing for Shad and Crappie the next 3 days. Plans are Fredricksburg for Shad tomorrow, perhaps Richmond Shad Thursday am, and the Chick in Pm and Friday. I will be bank fishing and like Rock a hock for crappie. If anyone has any advice give me a shout by this evening. Also I have a white chevy pickup with a cap and Pa plates so say hellow if you see me. Thanks for all the good advice and interesting tidbits in the past. Tony

Thanks fisherman 78. I will try the dock area and if need be get a rental and give it a try. I can see you are getting the same wet, cold weather we are getting. This may shut them down some but I need a good fishing fix.

Well here is what happened. Wed morning: Most rivers blown out for Shad. Went to a small lake that I was PM ed about ( thank you) and it was 34 deg. and 30 mph winds. About 20 cast and forget this. went to The chick at Rock a Hock water up but not dirty, I caught a few but not a banner hour or so. I went to a smaller trip ( will not give name, spot burn). and did well. I fish it for about 10 hours over the period of 2 days and landed about 70 crappie 2 bass, a few hearing and a carp (foul hooked). The crappie were averaging 11 inches. Not many smaller or bigger. I keep 3 meals for my wife and myself and released most of them. Thanks for the info and look forward to next year to do the same.
