Default SLow morning on the James

I fished the river around Osborne landing this morning. WT is up to 52 degrees was high 40s last week and very stained from all this rain. I only managed 1 crappie fishing 2-6 feet deep with minnows. THe one I did catch wasnt even black yet so guess its still going to be a little while. THe river has been pretty difficult this year. I looked at logs from years back and I was usually catching 50-100 fish per trip this time of year. I did find a few new spots that should produce when conditions get right.

Hey! get off my spots!! You know how I know they are my spots? Cause there was no fish there! Don't wait to long to go back to the same place. A couple more days like this and they will have to be basking in the warm shallow water.

If you get down around the power lines, I hear that Queens Creek is starting to pick up a few on the incoming tide. And down around Jamestown, the Black River and the creek are starting to show good signs. These were reports from other people that I fish with. I didn't get to go this weekend due to other obligations. Next weekend will be a different story if the weather is nice.

    Good Luck
