    Default chick river stingy today

Out of five boats that I know of, two from early to 11:30, three from then till 4 or so. Three crappie, 1 ringer was all of the pan fish caught. One boat caught 4 bass, 1 pike on minnows. No specks.

Next week should be better. The tides are "backwards" this week. In the upper river look for full or new moon periods. This syncs the tides with best fishing conditions. This time of year you are looking for incoming tides during the warm period of the day (10AM-3PM).
This tide combined with the temperature rise in the water causes fish to begin moving shallower and they become active. (Shallower doesn't mean shallow- they aren't up on the flats, yet.) You were fishing an outgoing tide most of the day yesterday. Under rising tide conditions focus your efforts around either side of the main drop off into the channel, 4 to 8 feet of water.

Hopefully you will find this to be helpful. Remember to be kind to the river and release the "fat" fish that are full of eggs.

As my dear departed daddy used to say; "God does not deduct the time spent fishing from the span of a man's life".

    Thanks for the report.
