    Default Nwr 3/8

Water was lower than I've seen it since the last hurricane. Scary pulling my boat out but a guy at the ramp gave me a hand, nice fella didn't catch his name. Got out around 7am water was too muddy to fish past the park. At noon I picked the family up at the park and we fished until 4pm. All in all 43 fish caught, kept 7 yellow perch and 7 crappie. Biggest crappie 11" biggest yellow 12" 1lb 8oz. All on minnows 81/2' + of water.

It was a lot of fun. I think it makes it a little more enjoyable when I go find the fish then pick them up. Less stress on finding them and keeping all entertained. My mother in law was put there too and caught 4 or so. We didn't have a big fry. I cleaned them all and gave half to my neighbor.

I've spent 10 years fishing that river. I will miss it when I move in the next couple months. My neighbor does a lot for me and I like to return the favor.

A really nice family day you had. I know about how low the water was last week. I watched Tulls creek go lower than I have ever seen. Even with some of the nasty storms of the past years. I think that at 168 I could have walked across the creek and never got wet. I bet you had a time fearing for the lower end as shallow as it was. Most people don't know just how much that river can rise and drop.

Pretty freaky how low. I won't put the boat in again that low just because things are more likely to go wrong. I did bang the bottom on a pojnt but was crawling along so no damage. If I had a single axle trailer I am not sure I would have got out as easy either. Big risk of dragging the frame at that angle.
