Richard, that would be woodduck1956, woodduck lives up here in the mountains close to me..

Again, thanks for the info. Love this site. A wealth of iniformation.

Can't believe I have targeted crappie before. Of course I have never had a boat before. I was also under the impression that they were a small fish. Don't know why I thought that.

I have read about the Douglas reports. Impressive. I will look into it.

Bark Camp is already on my list of places to go. I have camped & fished there before. I just read that it doesn't hold many crappie. It is almost the perfect place for me. Campground. Not too far away. Small body of water.

I ordered a roof rack for my car today. The earliest I could fish would be next weekend. I'll try to do a trip then. Of course once I choose a body of water, I'll prob have more questions.

I also plan on ordering a fish finder from Bass Pro once they offer their 6-month payment plan again (I work for the State. I get all the holidays off, but they don't pay us much.). Right now I am leaning toward the Piranhamax 175PT. Looks like it will do what I want it to do (find structure and dept changes) at a decent price. I am also keeping my eyes open for a used unit locally. You are just never sure what you are going to get buying used.

I did put a post on the TN board asking for options.
