Default I just stopped by the NWR

With a forecast of 70% chance of sleet and rain I decided to fish Sunday rather than today and of course, the weather men were wrong. Anyways, I stopped by Bob's on the NWR just to check on river conditions. I was told that the water is semi clear near the ramp but dirty down river. The water level looked to be only down slightly and I was told the water temps are down pretty low. There was 4 trailers in the parking lot and I was told that all of the ice is gone. I will post a report after my trip tomorrow.

For those who are traveling from out of town and have stopped at the Hardees that is in Chesapeake around 3-4 miles north of Bob's, well, it's closed so you will need to find another place.

Thanks for the info on the Hardees Tap. I called and talked with James at Bob's on Wednesday. Told him we were coming. He said he would have minnows for you. Said that some folks were catching decent perch. Told him my best guess was 15 boats for the Bash.

Looking forward to you report. Yes, the weather man needs to do best out of three on his coin flips.

Yesterday the few that fished for crappie and yellows had a good day with mostly crappie and good sizes. Using both jigs and minnows fished just off the bottom.
Even the bass that were caught were just off the bottom.. One of our better bassers caught his winning fish off the bottom and said its belly was yellow, thinking
it was resting on the bottom. He would have had 5 decent fish if it had been a five fish tourney.. John Goodman is hosting a one fish only tourney thru the winter
at Bobs for the Bass. WE are doing a Sunday Afternoon tourney for bass from 1pm to 5pm. For more info and dates visit bobsfishinghole.com. Looking forward to the BASH..
