    Default It 1/10/14

I fished today from about 7:30 am until 2: 05 pm. The bite was steady but slow. I caught 6 yellow perch: mostly males, no fat females. I kept 5 between 11 and 12 inches. I caught 9 crappie, and kept 8 above 9 inches. Five were between 12 and 13 inches long. We lost 5 more big ones at the side of the boat. I can personally account for three lost while attempting to net. The crappie were biting very lightly. Water was 37 in the morning, and had warmed to 40 by the time we left. Fish were located between 6 - 8 feet deep, in 10 - 16 FOW. Cajun cricket was a good color, as was bluegrass. PICTURE DISCLAIMER: I put my camera's battery in the charger last night to make sure it was ready for the trip. While placing it back in the camera at 4:30 this morning, I noticed my Data Card was missing! Yes, it is true--the data card had fallen victim to one of my loving family members (wife, college-aged daughter, and son who is a senior at HS). All swear they never saw it...and it must have been taken by my 30 year old daughter who lives across town! Gotta luv'm. Dean

Hey Jim, Water was slick calm, and I had to break a little ice that was left over. No green slime, and only a couple of leaves/sticks. Not bad at all. Let me know how your spot goes. Looking forward to fishing together again, one or two boats. Dean
