Always nice to have your best day ever. (numbers wise) Not sure why, but the bite was on like I've never seen before. In just over 10 hours I caught 223 crappie. (I use a clicker, this is not an estimate) I only caught 3 vertical jigging as my focus today was on casting. No minnows were harmed as the crappie were happy with either a Blue Ice or Black/Pink BGBS. (Bobby Garland Baby Shad) I caught them anywhere from 5' deep to 20' deep. (Black/Pink early and late in the day with Blue Ice mid day) The majority were around 11" including this guy.
I only had one that broke 1lb, this one was 1lb 1oz.
But heh, with as many 11"ers as I caught I am not complaining.
It was a crazy day and I had 100 at 10:35. Days like today are why I no longer fish with minnows. I was constantly catching them at different depths and when casting it's as simple as changing the number you are counting to whereas with bobbers and minnows it's a lot of work to be constantly changing your depth.
I showed surface water temp at 53-54.

GO BIG ORANGE !
I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.
Wow!

CRAPPIE fishing is not a sport, its a way of life!

I kept thinking all day at work that it would be a perfect day to be fishing, congrats on a great day.
Great report! You're right about minnows getting in the way when the bite is that strong. Every motion takes time & when you multiply those little bits of time by several hundred strikes, inefficiency takes a chunk out of your day.
Way to go George!!
