    Default Alligator River

Dad and I went out today and it was slow. Started about 8:30 and quit at 4. Was cold and a little windy at first but as the afternoon rolled on, it got to be a pretty memorable day. We did not mind the slow fishing as we were in an area where You could not hear a car on a highway anywhere. It was quiet and the water got so calm, you could see the mirror reflection of the sky on the water. It was really cool and I got to enjoy it with My Dad. We work together and see each other almost every day but we seldom get to spend enjoyment time together anymore. we had a great time.

We managed to catch 15 crappie, 2 yellow perch, 1 Grinnel, 1 Catfish, and 1 Bass. We lost 4 nice crappie at the boat. I was fishing jigs and dad was fishing minnows. We were pretty even on numbers but the bigger crappie coming in on the minnows today. I could not pattern a color today as they hit on about 6 different colors and never enough of one color to say that that was the color of the day. They hit all across the spectrum except for natural colored baits.

Got more pics I'll try to post later.CF

Good pics, amazing how much that looks like North Landing River. Sometimes catching a bunch of fish is way less important than the time you get to spend with family and friends.

this river system is huge Boscoe. If You want to go back in time, this is the place. It is all wildlife refuge. Very few houses though out the whole thing. Most of the houses that I know of are either fishing or Hunting camps and only accessible by boat. Saw some guys going to one of the lodges a couple years ago. They were leaving the boat ramp with their boat mounded up with gear. Even brought their satellite dish. Said they were staying for 2 weeks and were duck hunting the whole time.

Now that is what You call a vacation! I could do something like that.CF

Nice work CF. Better than sitting home. And I know what ya mean about the time with Pops. I spent all day with mine Saturday deer hunting. Hadn't done that since last year, come to think of it, the last day I felt like hunting all day and enjoyed it he was with me then too. Might have to try to get over there to the alligator one day with you if I can ever get my battry/motor issue straight.
