Made a loop in the parking lot and headed back to Hertford. Got the boat in the water and my cranking battery was dead. Swapped a battery from the trolling motor and then my motor would turn over but not fire. Guess that's what happens when an old motor sits up for a while. Didn't feel like messing with it so I just hooked my two good batteries back up to the trolling motor and fished left and right of the boat ramp. Lo and behold, I found some fish. Little bit of everything. Crappie, white perch, yellow perch, bass, rock, bream and shell crackers. Caught 6 crappie, 3 of which were tween 10 and 11 inches. The suprise of the day was the white perch. I prolly caught about 50 or so. And they were, for the most part, nice big fat fish. A lot more nicer fish than we caught this summer. Most of wm were over 10". The wind was a little rough and had debris floating all in the water. It made for a lot of work, but the fish kept a piss poor day from getting any worse. All in all, I can't complain, caught plenty of fish and never burned any gas in the boat.
