Great work! Just curious did they blow 3 toots on the whistle or SOS, or just random toots. Lots of things sound like help in the woods or when you are by yourself fishing way back somewhere so I know what you mean when you say you were not sure it was help. You used good judgement in calling 911.

The whistle was intermittent and with the wind blowing at me 10-15 it was hard to hear at times. I blew my horn three times hoping that he would reply the same but he did not. I would blow my horn every now and then to let him know I knew he needed help.

Wow, good thing you called it in or who knows how long they would have been out there. Congrats on the fish. Love that monster too.
