Anyone know who recarpets boats?

Hello,
I need my boat recarpeted. Any suggestions on a person to recarpet my boat? I live in the Tidewater area. Please provide a name and number. Also is a 17ft Lowe with a console on it.

Gene; I wouldn't have any idea concerning a vendor that is in this business. I have always done them myself. Cabela's sells all of the supplies and has instructions in their catalog and on their website. If you don't want to try it yourself, you might hook up with a local carpet installer and show him the directions in the Cabela's catalog. In brief; In most aluminum boats the decks should be removable by taking out screws. Once removed, you scrape off the old carpet, clean up the metal or wood (acetone works well), and glue in new, wrapping around the edges. Punch the screw holes in from the back side and mark on the top with chalk so you can find them when you go to screw it back down. Reuse the factory screws or buy exact replacements. Most of the screws I have seen are aluminum. This prevents corrosion due to having differnet metals in contact with each other in a marine environment. If you have areas, such as hatch covers, where the carpet doesn't wrap around, you just scape off the old, cut the new to fit, and glue it down. Cabela's sells the cement for use with their carpet. An alternative to carpet is the roll on coating that is also sold by Cabela's. It ends up looking like a truck bed liner and is very tough. I put it in my Ouachita restoration which lives outside year round and it has been holding up for 4 years, so far. the color has faded a bit, but it is an easy clean up. Best WIshes!

I've done a couple of mine just like Don says, in yrs past. the last time, a couple yrs ago, my ol knees wouldn't take the up an down very well so I got a local boat dealer to do it an he was very reasonable IMHO. ya mite could get some estimates from yur local dealers.
