    Default LAKE ANNA Results

Just got back to PA. from a week on Lake Anna. They were spotty but we did ok. Cove between Lake Anna St Pk and Genes Cow pasture, almost all the way back, old beaver hut on the left. After you pass Hunters Landing, first cove on your left, all the way back to your left to the bulkhead, cast right up to bulkhead. After you go under Stubbs Bridge heading north, stay right into the cove on the right. Goes way back in and hooks to the right. Gets shallow but keep right until you see a large rock cliff, just to the left of it there is an old beaver hut. All fish were taken in 2 to 3 feet of water, right on the sticks and grass. Lost a lot of jigs and grubs!! Used 1/16 oz jig heads and 2" grubs, Kalins, Crappie Assasins, , and Gulp emeral shinners. Surface temps from 63 to 70 depending where you were and the time of day. Hot, in 80's most days, 90 on Wed. They were not every where. Tried many other coves with same type conditions and found nothing. Myself and one friend each day. Ended up with over 300 fish for the week. Kept nine for supper and that was enough for three people. Most were 10 to 12 inches, a couple 14 and 15 and a few 6 to 8. Fun trip!!!

I looked for you- fished some of the same area! The creek next to state park- all I found was Bass (10-12 of them) and small striper. That rock wall is and area I fished 20+ yrs ago, but need to try again soon ( warms up early and spring spawn is normally good). I ended up on Anna arm before I found crappie. Going again this week waiting to see when son can take a day off,, (Thurs/ Fri)
Sounds like you had a good trip, Thanks for the report!

We spent a day and a half 2 weeks ago and did OK. We fished some of the same places as you. Most of are fish were a little deeper but the temps. were just getting hot when we fished. There were alot of crappie fishermen there when we were on the water so many of the better spots were already fished. Playing second fiddle is better that not playing at all. Thanks for your report. I am a Pa boy also. Perhaps you may want to consider the Chick. near Williamsburg. I seem to do a little better there then Anna. Not that I am complaining because Anna is a great fishery.
