Default Rod, Reel and line Review

I have not been out on the boat since Sunday before last but have rode around and bank fished a little to try out My new Pflueger Purist rod and reel and Hi vis Nano-Fil line. So far I love this set up. I have caught 5 crappie and some very small and had no problem detecting the bite. Also caught a 4 pound bass and rod handles it well. The Line held up well from the big fish. Line test is 4 pound. all the fish were caught on home made 1/32 ounce pony head spinner with 1 1/2" home made twister tail in Blue grass color. Bass hit and I saw the line move sideways and felt like a stump when I set the hook. That was fun.

Line is very sensitive and has no stretch. my distance increased by about 1/3 or normal and makes my shorter casts more accurate with less effort. Line is expensive and I will only be using it on casting outfits. Trolling will still use Berkley Trilene.

Can't wait to get out on the rivers and try it out. May get another outfit as My Bday is coming up. Might have to cash in.CF

Thanks CF, I was wondering how you liked it. Did you order nano-fil on line?

Yeah, I ordered from Cabelas. I can tell for sure when my bait hits something solid or when it hits weeds. Could not tell for sure before with Mono. still trying to get the hang of telling between hitting something and getting a lite bite. they can be hard to tell a part unless You see the line jump.CF
