will that age motor run on ethanol gas. I understand ethanol burns hotter than just regular gas. If you get it running you wouldn't want more problems.

i dont know about that? i like to throw an additive in my fuel anyways because i am not a fan of what ethanol does to engines!

well guys... my 12ft v-hull AND my 14ft jon boat are both sold!!! now i am down to the 16ft tracker that i need to take the Mercury 50 off the back and put in place a 9.9-15. i feel empty not having a working boat to go fishing on this weekend! so the rush is on... if any of you have a long shaft 15 outboard they are willing to sell please let me know!!! i am also looking to put a foot controlled trolling motor on this boat.

Curious what you sold the 1436 for? That was one cool jon after the mod...Did you sell it with the 9.9 or without?

well i had it on CL for $2500 with the yamaha 15 and all the electronics, trolling motor, and sitting on a 2004 trailer... got $2300 for it tonight after a quick trial run at lake smith. so i am happy with the sale! just sad that i sold the boat :/ lol

Hate to hear ya had to let her go, at least ya didn't take a beating on it.

new outboard... basically the exact same as my yamaha 15 i just sold with my other boat!!! should have just kept that one instead of having to find a new one and hope it will be a good dependable engine. oh well... it is a short shaft and i will have to cut my transom shorter in order to use this outboard. but i think it will work out just fine. i built this rolling stand for the engine today! works great!!!

propeller question... with this little outboard on a heavy boat... what size/pitch prop would you recommend? 3 blade? 4 blade?

here is some good information about props... but still looking for someone's advice! maybe someone else has put a small outboard on a big/heavy boat? im looking to get the best speed as possible (and i know it will be slow no matter what...)
