Default opinions on high vise lines

Personaly I use viscious high vise and I like it.theres a part of me that wonders what tbe fosh are seeing.the reason i wonder about it is because some years ago i had read about the camo lines for crappie fishing.Ive landed some nice slans on high vise.

Everyone I know uses high vis line. It really helps to see the line twitch when casting. I even watched a video that claimed that the high vis line gets the crappie's attention before the jig arrives. Anyone that thinks it scares fish away is mistaken. I caught 3,705 crappie with it last year and fishdoc caught thousands and thousands more with it.

I fished clear mono for my entire life, but after fishing side-by-side with some high-vis users, and watching them catch 2 to my 1, I switched to high-vis. End of story.

IMHO ... if you fish methods that require watching the rod tip or a float, then clear line would work fine. If you fish methods that require watching your line, then hi-vis line is almost a must, unless you have excellent eyesight & the lighting conditions are favorable.

As I've said before, I don't think the fish are smart enough to be scared of line color. And if they do seem to be spooked by the line, you can be sure that they're reacting to more than just the presence of that line.

Can the fish see the line ? Yes ... and they can probably see the clear lines & camo lines, too. Why aren't they spooked by ALL lines, regardless of color ?? They don't spook from something that doesn't represent a threat to them. Many say that they can't get bit by spooked fish in clear waters, and blame it on the colored line ... when in fact it may be a more likely scenario that the fish can also see the angler, the boat, shadows from the anglers movement, and the rod motion; all of which is instinctively viewed as a threat. That's not taking into account all the other things that may have put them in a negative/defensive/spooked mood. If they can see you, the boat, etc ... then they can also see other predator fish, birds of prey, and the motion of other things within their range of sight that may have spooked them well before the angler arrived.

i have always been a line watcher. 90 % of the crappie i catch i never feel them. i watch for the tick in my line. high vis line is the only way to go.

I was in my boat while camping one day last year straighten out my rods and drop jig in water and brims kept pecking at it ,then i watch one come up the line to top and go back down,he did that a few times, the line seam to curious him but did not bother him, don't know that that means anything ,but it was fun watching him. I mostly use high vis, year before last wife and me caught over 5000 with that line ,don't know the count for last year, records was only sparismatic, probably in 4000, but we don't have to work now as many of you do,or many of you would have caught even more.

I like Vicious Hi-Vis line. Has anyone noticed that the 4# & 6# are different colors? My 4# seems to be a lot greener than the 6#.

I switched to Suffix Hi Vis yellow a long time ago and really like it. I still can't see the twitch in the line but hopefully I will be able to after I get my cataracts fixed in a few months.
