I'm trying to plan vacation dates therefore... I am calling upon your sage advice. When will the yellow perch be in the NWR proper? Not the scouts or early females..I'm talking about the arrival of the entire herd. The whole kit and kaboodle.
Now, I have googled almost to the end of the internet searching for the truth. I have read NC and Va studies on growth, reproduction, mortality and the likes. I have read that moon, weather, light of day and water temp all impact the spawn.
Do you catch them in numbers before, during or after the spawn? Is it mid to late January or late January to mid Feb? Any particular dates have proven true year after year? I'll get out and go when I can but if I can nail down the best time frame for success....I'm putting in my leave chit.
