Tried a variety of colors sizes of jigs today at Lone Star. Hit the "Paddling Trail"? dock first and worked a fan cast and retrieve pattern around it using a variety of size and color combination jigs at depths from 2 ft to bumping the bottom (about 6 ft there). I also tried vertical jigging all around the dock. Both these had no results. I noticed the tide was coming in and thought I would try drifting a jig under a float along the edge of the brush and stumps I could see opposite the dock. Third time the float slowly disappeared and I took up the line slack. I felt 2 quick thumps and the line started racing away from the dock along the bank screaming the drag. About 20 ft out it spit hook and the float resurfaced. Never saw what it was but it was decent sized what ever it was.
Was a 1/8 pink jig head with a BG Cajun Cricket and tipped with a pink nibble. The jig was set 3 ft below the float and was drifting with the tide current.

After that I tried repeating the drift without result.
Southern lakes were a bust as were Crystal lake, and Butler Tract Docks.
Cheers
