    Default Eating crappie

That's something this big boy and 5 of his closest friends won't be doing anymore!

Weighing in at 13 lb. 4 oz. and measuring 47", this is the largest gar I've taken out of Diascund Reservoir. Bigger ones are still in there.

After catching one gar and a dismal number of crappies on Friday, I decided to go with what was biting & went back yesterday for a PM run at the gars. I fished minnows on treble hooks right off the bottom and had dozens of hook-ups. Most managed to throw the hook, however.

Saturday brings my 2012 total to 68. To give you some idea how thick the gars are in that lake, I've only landed double that number of keeper size Diascund specks this year.
