thats a nice dedicated rig! i lay mine down with velcro on all three benches of my 1448 I go under way to many bridges...even ones i have to lay down to get under...not to mention being in my way casting. is that rig fairly light? whats the advantage of it being that high off the boat?

Yes it's aluminum. I can hold it up with one finger. It can be removed very easy. The advantage of it raised would be that it holds the rods above the seats and you can have rods on the bottom rack also. check out cumberland crappie I think they are based out of Kentucky.
Keep some for the pan, let the larger ones go back for another day!
