Well folks...My girlfriend of 30 yrs and I fished the river for 5 hrs Sat. We put in at Moyock Creek and slowly motored out to the big water, hung a right and went south. This trip we had a bucket of small/medium minnows that we fished on jig heads and bobbers. Most fishing was done in shallow water close to the bank and we worked close to the trees. This trip was a late morning mid-afternoon effort. And now for the moment you've been all waiting for....the final tally is......1 yp. But hey, it was a beautiful day. These cooler temperatures are a pleasure.
I'm teaching my wife to drive the boat which is not unlike teaching your kids to drive. I certainly don't mind her company and I have never had a fishing partner that keeps the boat so clean and orderly. We had a lot of fun out there. If you see a bunch of minnows hanging from trees out there trust me....they ain't mine.
Good luck to you all.

Sounds like my day down there yesterday. Not sure what had the fish so turned off.
Thanks for the report. I can't get my other half to go with me.
That river can be tough at times I also wish I could get my wife to fish with me, nice job.

it's cold.. it's raining....it's too windy...
"fish on!!!"
(What a great day for fishing) lol.
that is a tuff river to figure out. at times i think i have their number than the wind changes direction and they disappear. the best pattern is fish points next to creek mouths. the fish should be holding in about 10 ft of water suspened about 4 to 6 ft deep. hope this helps. tight lines JIM.B
I second just what JB said only wait n bout 3 weeks and I say 5-7 feet down and IF the water is clear you will do very well. You should have tore em up just past the boat ramp in the creek but they would be 7-8 inchers, still a blast to hook em' and catch em' and learn to feel the bite.
