I am armed and dangerous. I have been a member for all of a week and have logged many hours reading about all you boys from Va catchin' crappies. I live in Camden down in Carolina and am about 20 minutes from the Northwest River. I have fished for yp a few times in that river but mostly, I have always been a catfisherman at heart. Times they are a changin'. I got this crappie bug so bad I can't stand it. The mailman arrived with my jigs, grubs, rods, reels, line..even them little plickers to poke holes in the painted eyes. Got most of those goodies from Monks as suggested on here. If the preparation is half as much fun as the execution...I'm in for a real treat. Plan to put in tommorrow on the Carolina side and fish right down from the border line. Gonna use a spinning reel and fling a money jig for starters. I'll let you know how it goes.
You kind folks are so good to share all your talent and wealth of information to the public. I have read your posts all the way back to 2006 and feel like I already know you. You're just some really nice people.
You may see me floating around this fall and winter in an 18ft crestliner jon boat with a camo scheme. Look for an old, fat guy with a perplexed look on his face and that would be me. I hope to say hello to you some day.
Thanks.

CRAPPIE fishing is not a sport, its a way of life!
Welcome aboard Alton. Do you fish Tull's Creek much? That has always been one of my favorite and I have really had the urge lately. The only thing keeping me from it is a couple hernias but I may ignor them and go anyway.

I have not fished Tulls Creek but would certainly be willing to give it a go. Hope your feeling better soon and can get out and catch a fish. Jeez.. I got my fair share of discomforts as well but I figure since my wife makes me mow that grass and weedeat..I'm in good enough shape to slip off and wet a hook. Thanks Bill.
Welcome, good to have you here.
Welcome Camdenspeckgetter. I fish all around the Edenton area and I have fished NW river and Indian Town creek. Once the water cools, there will be more folks here fishing those areas and You will get a chance to meet them. Also there will be a Get together around Feb. when the perch are running up river. We call it the North West River Bash. Usually has really good turn out and You can meet a bunch of folks here and learn a lot.CF
