Default Saturday-only 30 but some nice ones.

I changed my mind and headed out to Suffolk rather than the North Landing River. It was a slow bite and things were not looking too good around 4:00 when I only had 14 crappie with my biggest at 1lb even but then I decided to hit a spot that I had tried first thing (and only landed 5 dink crappie) and boy was it the right decision. I got 16 more crappie but the fun part was that within 45 minutes I landed 2 at 1lb 3oz, 1 at 1lb 5oz, and 2 at 1lb 8oz. Pearl BGBS on a 1/8oz jig head counting down to 7 or 8 was the ticket.

These 5 nice crappie made my day. I much prefer to catch bigger crappie rather than just high numbers. I want to say that I went 4 hours or so mid day without a crappie so perseverance paid off.

That's the hardest part of fishing. It's so easy to get discouraged and think about other things you could do with the day. Congrats on a great day of fishing!

Good catchin'. Tap. Weather prolly had them scattered and skittish and I'd guess you were fighting the wind late in the day? They should settle down in a couple of days and go on a binge from the cooler weather.

Not me Corky. When I'm out there, even if I don't get a bite, it is better than anything I could be or should be doing. Maybe if I was like some of You fellas that get to fish on a regular basis, I would feel differently. Every chance I get to get out on the water now is special to me and I get very angry when something disrupts it. There better be a life threatening issue to get me off the water once I'm there.CF

My thoughts are on other bodies of water I could be fishing rather than other things to do.
