Going to brave the weather this weekend, usually camp at northbend, think im gonna try rudds or oconochee this time. Whats the crappie doing? Can I catch in rudds or Eastland or is the mainlake going to be my best luck? Whole family is going so my search time is limited...also limited to my 1448 with a 9.9. Thanks in advance.

I hear that is a huge lake also, but it sounds like a dream crappie team in the line up best of luck.

PP, I have not been to Buggs since last of May,but I am sure that their are crappies on the BP that tops out at about 15 feet in Rudds or Eastland,They gets sluggist at biting in middle of day and when I would fish them in hot weather, I found that the easy way to catch them then is to take a bait like BGSS and cut the tail off ,no more than about 3/4 inch and put it on a 1/64 jig head with a #6 or # 8 hook and put a split shot up the line and drop it into the brush and hold it still only move it every 30 to 60 seconds. It sounds crude but I did it many times and the brighter the day the better.I would do it behind guys minnow fishing when they could not get a bite and talk to them at camp. You would think of little fish with that rig but I caught them up to 17 inches and do it at the bridges also, ofcoarse I was using white. Naturally the river is better but is much harder to find spots to fish except the bridge which the best spots are always taken so I do not go there. I have a hand held GPS if you could stop by could use it and it has more spots tyou could fish in a week

I would not recommend coming to Buggs this weekend for fishing. Its lakefest in Clarksville and without a doubt the busiest the lake is all year. If you still come I would stay away from Clarksville with any small boat. I would guess it will be hard to find a place this weekend now.

Thanks alot guys, genec thats mighty kind of you. Thanks for the info about lakefest. Weather is gonna be bad...gonna post pone, tent camping with two kids 10 months and 3yr old.. Gene I couldnt do that, with my luck id drop it in the water lol
