Dang Russell 22Mph aint enough? You are keeping the "9.9" Johnson right? Good luck ive been keeping an eye on craigslist for awhile... I want one bad lol. I ripped the rear floor out of my boat it gained me alittle, now im running 16-17 steady.. im ready to buy some square aluminum 1x1x1/8 for support and cover it with sheet metal using pop rivets kinda like those grizzlys at BPS... wood is heavy... my floor has lasted 3 yrs and im ready for a change.

Have you tried a 11 pitch stainless steel prop? They are only $115 from Solas, Take it in and get it cupped for another 1 mph. New reed pack and bore out the carb just a bit. should get you to 22mph. Changing batteries for trolling motor can save a lot of weight also.

Radarman, those older Yamaha 25's with the one carb vs the newer ones with 2 carbs are the ticket. Easy to work on and run forever. I sure do like an electric start for a 25, it will start to wear on your arm.

She runs 23.5 mph. but in the river it aint enough, feels like I'm crawling. I'm hoping a 25hp will get me close to 30 mph. I also pulled the girls in the tube ALL WEEKEND LONG. You wouldnt believe how much of a drag 1 tube and a 35 lb girl puts on a small boat. She'll only run about 15 mph puling that tube

I have an 07 25 hp Yammy on the 16'Alumacraft Semi-v. It goes around 35 with just me in the boat, against the wind. I have gotten it up to 42 m.p.h. a time or two. When I get 2 men in the boat and all their gear, it goes around 25 mph.

Any preferred brand or price range/age? I'm on Craigslist constantly and can keep any eye out for you on the DC lists if you don't mind a drive.

I am used to working on Johnson / Evinrude and Suzuki. But I dont think Im predjudice to any kind. I guess a Merc would be my least favorite.
