    Default hot fishing

went to the suffolk lakes sunday and fished 1/2 a day. with the light breezes it was not to bad out there fishing. now with the report. I was fishing the same pattern as get the net except i caught a load of white perch also. no jumbo crappie with the biggest at 13". I caught fish the whole morning including cat fish up to 8 lbs and one jumbo gar. i stopped by the bait store this morning and picked up some med size minnows [first time this year] and gave them a try. i started catching fish on jigs then for some reason i kept getting short strikes. when i got ready to leave i found the 1/8 jig i was casting had lost the barb and thats accounts for the short strikes. Felt like a big dummy. the fish i caught today were in 30 ft of water and suppened at 15 to 20 ft deep. Had the lake almost to myself. see yall on the water. tite lines JIM.B

Great Report JimB! Glad to hear your getting your moneys worth outta those longrods. Good to see you post up Wes. Been catching any at the pond? Ever tried pulling small crappie cranks in the summer?....Its a hot pattern on our honey hole ponds.
