I did a coin toss Blackwater or local. Well local won, droped in at Bob's about 9:00,checked a few places that I know, pulled a few. Went down Past Moyock creek, wind was harsh. Went back up to state line, rolling things on the water. I was not going to take the gar title. Up to the park, a 26" bowfin slamed my ultra light. Broke pole, but landed said fish. Went around big island, current pushing water into the tree knobs, back in them goes my jig, Out comes first gill. Ok try this again same results. Left at 1:30 two dozen caught and let go. I was beat. Oh they were ready to spawn. No females all males. Them little guys fight so good an an ultra light and four pound test. Was to busy catching and releasing to snap picsThey were in 2' or less of water, very black. Depth finder was useless, had motor and t/m out as I was so shallow. Got out pole and pushed boat. I never figured they be that shallow. Bettle spins were the best. Water was little stained, down about a foot to eighteen inches. I think that is everything.
