Got there at 0645 and surface water temp was 57:
Got 7 between Bob's and the park. Pushed 1/32 oz jigs, spider-rigged, 3' to 5' down. I tried to back off the shore to water that was 6" deep. It didn't matter what color the jig was, as long as it was chartreuse: BGBS chartreuse/black pepper (thanks Perc for that color recommendation) and better yet, chartreuse pearl (thanks Tap for that color recommendation). The biggest one was 11":
Got this guy (8.5") just before the park:
All-in-all, I caught 9 crappie, 2 warmouth perch, 1 bluegill and 1 white perch. All went back in the river except 3 of the biggest crappie and the bluegill.
It was a great day to wake up alive, and go fishing:
