    Gene- I haven't had any success around ice in lakes, but rivers are different!

    How deep are you fishing in these pictures? I'm guessing it's a river?

    It's Chick River during the winter of '09 - '10. My poles are 14' and there's 2' to 3' of line above the corks, so that means the minnows were riding along at 11' to 12' deep.

    Yes corker ,how deep were you fishing and how deep was the water there? And did you catch much? Always looking a different pattern to fish. Also with places with no ice ,what was it that made you try it? as you can see I have more question than answer.I am always trying to improve on my fishing, except for your minnows. LOL Just kidding ,just had to do it....

    i think that most people that fish buggs fish deep in the winter. in febuary i have slayed them in 3 foot of water on north ends of creeks. all you need is a three day warming trend.
