    It's going to be hard to make a mistake here! All of these brand names are top notch and all 3 cameras have good specs and owner ratings. Like you, I used to avoid camera-specific battery packs, but so far my Panasonic's battery has been good.

    Thanks Charlie, I got that Canon in yesterday and picked up a SDHC card for it today. Now I just got to learn how to use it. Seems like a ral nice camera.

    As soon as you master OFF/ON, zoom, and shoot, you're ready for a photo field trip. Carry the user manual but don't worry about "pushing the wrong button" and not being able to undo something that happens by accident.
