    Default Road Trip

Me and Jr. are headed S.W. this weekend to pick up the S.S. DaveChaser so we won't be able to fish.
If any of you go to N.W. or Indiantown, please tell the fish I'll be back to get them next weekend.

That's great! I'm sure Dave is flattered by the name of your new prized possession. I'll be on the river all day Monday. I'll give a good report Tues morning. It's going to be a little tricky the next couple weekends trying to pattern fish for the 28th when the weather is so darn warm.

Squirrel Hunter you all be carefull out there. It seems' there is a new nut born everyday when you drive down these highways. When you get back put a picture on here of the new "ship". Better yet, if you come by Holland on the way back, stop by for a visit.

    Thanks for the support guys!
The rig is a '99 Bayhawk, center console, 18.5 ft., with a '99 yamaha 150 on it. The boat is made in Arkansas and you can see a pic. by searching Bay Hawk Boats.
The only rigging I will need to do is to mount my T-bars to the front deck and mount my fish finder up there. I'm planning to use a "shoot through the hull" transducer to keep from having the transducer on the bottom of the trolling motor. Do any of you have any advice about those?
I'm supposed to meet the driver in Asheville N.C. tomorrow at 1:00. If all goes as planned, I'll bring it on home tomorrow night and launch it Sun. just to shake it out.
I will post a pic. after I get it rigged.

Good luck with your trip Brad. I've never mouted a transducer to shoot thru thehull but I do know one of the most important things is to use an epoxy that will not have any bubbles in it. West marine may carry something just for that. Also, remember your temperature gauge will not work properly with it there.

if you do any contour trolling it will do better on the troll motor because that is your pivot point...especially in shallow water like we troll in spring imho.
