Got out on the Appomattox both days this weekend. Yesterday was cold with a stiff wind most of the day, today was much better. We keep going back to the couple of holes we've had good luck on and we keep catching fish. I guess I should be trying to find some other spots, but we're having too much fun. Caught around 30 yesterday and 50 today. Most were under a pound, but we got into a few bigger ones today. Attached are a few pictures of some of the nice ones. Water temp both days was 41 - 42, all were caught about 12-14 feet deep using minnows with slip bobbers.

Life's too short to fish with dead minnows!

I like it! Nice work. You guys are having fun. Keep it up. Keep the pics coming. Between sick kids and my cold and ear infection, I am having cabin fever. I was glad to go to Walmart today.
Good luck,
Dayton
I'd say you have found their winter digs. I am so jealous next ones I catch I am going to take extra clothes with for wardrobe change and have friend drive me to several different locations for photo shoots. Will store pics on computer and then post a few every now and then with entertaining BS stories when I can't stand it anymore.
Seriously, way to go and glad you're getting into em. Take care.

The fish are nice, but your last post on this thread is the most impressive to me!
Guys like you make this site the best! Thanks again- Brad Baker

I would love to take my son (will be 5 in March) and let him try that. He asked me yesterday to take him fishing. The catfishing has been a bit slow, and we all have been sick, so I told him we would go some time soon. I am not far from Castaways.
My boat is deeper hull (walleye style) so it is good for kids. If you have a youngster that would like to go, lets get together, put some life jackets on 'um, and go for a few hours. I'll cover the gas, snacks and minnows.
Let me know what you think.

Dayton:
That sounds like fun. My twin boys are 15 and we can take 2 boats. I put in at the Small Boat Harbor on Puddledock Road. If you don't know where that is we can just meet at Castaways (that's where we always get our minows). The boys and I try to fish every weekend (weather permitting). They're getting to the age where they have a lot going on, but we still do alot of fishing. Your boy will have a blast. I coach rec league baseball and we start up in late Feb. Once that gets started, we do most of our fishing on Sundays. By the way, your son will be old enough for tball this year. I am on the board of Central Chesterfield Little League and we have a great organization. If you are interested, shoot me an email and I can give you all of the info you'll need.
Squirrel Hunter:
My pleasure. I'm just following the example of the other guys on the board. When I first started posting, I mentioned in a post from PanMan that I was going to Beaverdam and he replied with a satellite view of the lake with annotations showing some of his best spots. You can't do much better than that!
Thanks to all of you guys for sharing your knowlege.
