Correct...Its Zero Hour Bomb Company....
Now for the rest of the story.....
The Zero Hour Bomb Company went into business in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1932. The company made electric time bombs for the oil industry used for fracturing oil well formations. Thats the only product that they made and the market for their product was drying up and they were looking for something else to make. A watch maker and inventer named R.D. Hull designed and invented a backlash free fishing reel and was looking for someone to manufacture and market it. A partnership deal was worked out with him and Zero Hour Bomb Co. In 1949 they produced their first reel called the Standard. They marketed these under the name Zebco and in 1956 changed the company name to Zebco. In 1961 Zebco merged with the Brunswick Corporation. Then in 2001 the W.C.Bradley Company bought Zebco from Brunswick. So, now you know. Stay tuned for next Monday for some more fishing Trivia.
