In Texas, it’s legal to stock fish in private ponds that were taken from public waters, provided they meet all the usual requirements in length and limits.

Put 6 crappie in a relatively small spring fed pond on a friends property. Fingers crossed they make it and start to reproduce. We know there is a population of bluegill and a bass or two in the waters as well. Some fathead minnows will be thrown in periodically for good measure. Time will tell how it works out.
