Main boat lanes are marked with bouys but can break free or be moved by winds possibly. There is website, boatlanes.com, where you can download tracks for lowrance or Humminbird. Once you download on Sd card and load on fishfinder they are there like waypoints and you can remove the card. They have instructions on the site and are about $25 if I remember right.
I like this piece of mind when navigating a new lake. I'm going to look into this. Just out of curiosity, doesn't the Humminbird show the channel?
