Friends, it is my first spawn. Water is about 60. I am anxious to get in on the spawn action and put the hammer down in skinny water.

Tried a few spots yesterday and couldn’t find anything in the shallows. Put my jig in some woody timber by the bank and worked around a few cuts and coves. After an hour or so with no hits, I decided to change techniques.

Went to various docks and picked off a few fish here and there at moderate depths throughout the day. End of the day, I bagged 7. Talking bout KABOOM y’all.

Of these fish, only one was a male wearing his tux and there were a couple that were either beginning to show, or go back the other way. Only one female had eggs and I’m no scientist, but I’d wager a couple were females without.

My question, does this mean the spawn is most likely halfway gone? OR, is it possible it is just beginning?

Best,
