I have used the same jigs on gills just like crappie this year. Still not the numbers that I get with worms or crickets. I am still learning the jig stuff so it is hard to say. I look for numbers right now since I am getting my grandson hooked on fishing.

Great pics!
Nice colored fish and jig. Are the gills in shallower water this time of year in Texas, like they are here in Florida? Just asking 'cause it looks like your in deeper water, maybe on a break line.
Pass the "Sportsman Baton" on before you're gone, promote values for others to hunt and fish upon.
trying to ketch bluegill with them jigs goes like this![]()

we were in about 10 fow targeting crappie but I had a tandem tied up with a bluegill jig on top of a crappie jig I had rigged in case we could not find the crappie . I wasn't actually trying to ketch bluegill
