The crappie are still up super tight to the bank and the slam fest continues . we are running jigs about 8 inches under floats and ketching them in about 12 to 18 inches of water . hit it Tuesday for 1.5 hours and got there at 6 pm and left at 7 30 pm . my bud and I managed about 40 or so in that time and got our line broke a couple of times on fish as well .Didn't have a fish checker with us ,so any close fish or questionable ones got tossed back in . I trucked out 17 for me and left him there to load up some for himself . he said it continued until he left at dark and we were all alone in the gale force wind that day .
the mix was about 50 50 males and females and they really don't care what color or size jig and will flat try to dislocate your arm when they hit and swallow the jig as well .
note how close the float is to the jig on the 2 toss back fish !
gots to love spawners for sure !
p.s. I even got to play lets mess with the BIG buck on the way when I was hiking back out as well , seems he wanted to go back where he came from and couldn't figure out how to get around me and my bright orange shirt ...LOL
