Be sure to let us know how it all goes for you. Maybe we can come up with something else?

Maybe you could put in a steak bed to fish? Also if not many people fish the same water you could put in some brush and use a bottle as a flat to mark it so you can not only fish it, but can also add new stuff to it every year.

Also when you get that fish finder make sure so always know what water depth you got the fish in and live in that depth of water at least that entire day. If spring time that depth may last all spring too. On a normal year here I always notice my depth of water on the first fish I find and I know that their will be a holding area that most stay in except when they run to the bank to get on a nest. They will go in and out from that original depth all spring. So instead of looking for them actually on their beds I like to find the water depth most are always holding at and fish that. If I fist find them in 6' of water, then I will fish 6' water as much as I can, but if I find them at 7 1/2' of water then I will live right there usually all spring. Also yes one foot of water depth off can make a huge difference!
