    Default Another Conroe Report

Sorry for all the Conroe reports and no place else. The water is still too high to take on the fish. They have the advantage! That being said, I went to Conroe for my birthday and did 24 hrs on the lake. Very fun day again with the bass biting really well on jigs. Cats and strippers were easily caught on minnows and jigs tipped with minnows. Bluegill beds easily found along the shorelines with some big gills on them. The crappie were elusive. I caught one dink and threw him back to get bigger so I can catch him again next time. I think he is the only crappie left on Conroe so i want to give him a chance to populate the lake again...wishful thinking. I will be contacting the state wildlife and ask that they restock the crappie for future generations. Will let you know how it goes. Back to the report, weather was perfect all day and traffic on the water was really not bad at all for a weekend. Can't wait for the other lakes to be fish-able soon!
