Default LBJ 10/27 - Best crappie fishing day ever

Got the chance to fish with a friend again and had best day ever for me. After landing 35 keepers, started keeping larger fish only. Kept 43 out of about 60 keepers between us. Fished structure in around 20ft of water. Used some of my hand tied jigs (orange/orange/chartreuse), and a purple feathered jig from Thump-It jigs that has become one of my favorites. Both produced all day long. I had a white jig that did good in the morning, but not much after sun got up.

If you are every in Central Texas and need a guide, check out Kevin Kubiak (www.hotcrappie.com). We killed on LBJ today. Have used his service several times and now have gone out a few times as friends. He has really helped me come along as a crappie fisherman. Think I will fish LBJ more often!!!

Going to take a bunch of the filets to E Texas next weekend and cook up a mess of crappie for sister and my brother-n-law who is not doing well. I know he will enjoy that.

Very nice haul FF!! Looks like you had fun for sure. I have to try LBJ sometime. I fished Lake Houston last night and landed 10 keepers with the largest at 14 1/4" at 1.76 lbs.

Good job! Best fish we had was 1,38 lbs. Still would like to try Somerville with you. (Hope things went well in Dallas). Not too sure about winter crappie fishing though.

All the materials came from you Skip except jig head. Grousefly made the painted heads. He really does good work on those painted heads.

Hoping to pick up so more materials from you this next week when I'm in town. Maybe we can get Ferdi to join us for another chicken fried steak.

You peaked my interest. Where's that at? In Hemphill? Love me some chicken fried steak. I always make a point to visit Hemphill BBQ when I'm there for some fine BBQ.
