I met Ferdi and Skip for Chicken Fried steak (get the big one) at Paradise Cafe in Six Mile a while back. I finally found Hemphill BBQ a few weeks ago, but was closed. Headed to E Texas tomorrow for opening weekend and then again Thanksgiving week. Plan to bring boat Thanksgiving week and mess around at Sam Rayburn and try to learn a little about the lake.

Hey the BBQ Place out of the corner of 83 and 3121 is the good one. Not sure which one you found, but that one is pretty good. They may make the best smoked turkey I ever had, good sandwich stuff! I do enjoy the ribs as well as their brisket and chip beef too.

The place at 6 Mile is the Sportsman Cafe and they do make a pretty good chicken fried steak and yes only the big one because the small one is not hand breaded like the large and that makes a huge difference! I can get one of the large and have 2 meals off of it, LOL!

Danny maybe we can get another chicken fried steak before too long!

Now on weekends if you want to spend a lot to eat a lot you can run over to Louisiana and there is a place just across the bridge that has a seafood buffet on Friday and I think Saturday, Not sure about other days. They have on this one....Shrimp, Stuffed Shrimp, Fried Oysters, Frog Legs, Catfish, Fried corn, Gumbo, and several other things I can't think of right now, but it's a bit high. Think last week the wife and I went and it was just over $40 before tip, LOL! However if you like fried, it's good stuff!

Randy that is the little cafe right where you turn off of Hwy 87. I will take you there next time you come by or we can take it back here to the house to eat if we want.

Okay, the Sportsman Café, now I know. Sounds like a plan Skip. The BBQ place you described at 83 and 3121 is Hemphill BBQ - the one I was talking about. Thanks!

How did I come up with Paradise Cafe??? I even looked on Google maps to make sure I had name correct. Another senior moment I guess. LOL
