    Default Heading to Lake Conroe next Week


    Going on vacation next week and staying on Lake Conroe. Anyone been out lately and seen how the fishing has been or the water/weather? Also...where is a good place to get bait around there?

    Been to Conroe and got minnows at a 24 hour store on the south side of lake. Can't remember the name but I think it is a Chevron station. There is also a bait shop a little ways down from that store open only day hours.
    Fish the bridge for crappie and whites. There are pilings marked with X and O that are good spots to fish. Look for them on the pilings. You can tie off over the pilings also for ease.
    The cove just northwest of the bridge also is good for crappie, cats and bass.
