Default Got on the lake today

Wife and i got the pontoon on the water this afternoon and had a ball.
I got yo try out the update on the 997c HB and also the new Lakemaster lake map. The map does what I have been wanting. It shows all the nooks and crannies, dips and doodles and the roads, ponds and the river and creek beds. I was surprised at the accuracy from the little bit i really got to play with the unit. I am very happy with the lake map, it takes time to catch up once in a while when running fast across the lake but it does a great job of tracking and being on the money.
I have an issue I will have to put out to HB about turning off a couple of the things on the side bar. On certain views of the map the course will show even though it is turned off. The new look of the 997c is good though with new colors and clearer screen pictures so I am please with that too.
As you can see I have avoided writing about the fishing. The water has come up so much (Thank You Lord) that the fish are scattered North of Jackson Hill. We did catch one white bass but no Crappie. We fished 6 spots and didn't do any good. We were told the fish were in the shallows below the 147 bridge to the left and that would put them in Harvey Creek or Indian Creek??
There is tournaments going on this weekend so the lake if full of fishermen. I did see a couple Crappie being taken to the cleaning station but they said they had a time getting those??
We had a great time on the water and will try south of the bridge next time out. The water temp was 68 degrees North of Jackson Hill so I bet they are up there spawning somewhere????
Good fishing to you all. Ferdi aka Fred

Fred, we had about the same luck on the south end I was more interested in seeing how the launch at Mill Creek was. We fished around needmore and back to old 96. We picked up a few crappie here and there but could not find many in one spot. Water temps were 68 and 70 in some shallow areas. We did do very well on catfish chasing noodles.

I was told they were hitting in Aish Bayou. I've only fished there once and it was for those green things but they have the willows all up the bayou from the south end. I suppose if a person finds them they will bite. I'll see the doctor this coming Thursday and if he turns me loose maybe I will get out there and do some serious looking. I imagine you could really cash in if you do find them. Good fishing, Ferdi aka Fred
