Does the picture on my computer have to be resized to allow uploading with the WYSIWYG editor....??
I try to upload a pic and it loads for several seconds and then fails....
FYI: You can not post pictures till you've made 3 posts, and have been a member for 3 days. After that, you get promoted to a user group that allows pic posts. It used to be 5 posts and 5 days, but I just now changed it to 3 and 3. This is part of the system to prevent spam.
Hmm..When I select a pic from my computer...its shows in the upload panel with a red exclamation point to the right of it..when I hover over the exclamation point..it says "File Too Large"..and will not upload...
Now, I know, indeed, that the pic was taken at the highest resolution (3264 X 2448) on my digital camera, but the editor is not resizing the pic automatically...
You have to use microsoft paint which should be on your computer.....resize your pics to 650X490 and the will work just fine then. This keeps the pics from being big and folks having to scroll and scroll and scroll to try to see them. I had to do this when we were on the old format as well.
works great thanks!

My seeting was already okay, but when i try to click " Insert Imag" i get a box http:// and it want a link, i cant browes?
any ideas
it doesnt give me the slect from my computer only the http;// i would much rather browes inside my PC and select a picture. any ideas?
Which Icon are you using ??
When I click on the "insert image" icon (to the right of the "envelope" looking icon & under the right pointing blue arrow icon), this is what I get :
Add an Image

You need to click on the "From Computer" link !! ;) (I think your problem may be that it automatically defaults to the URL link, if that's what you're using)
Then ... if you click on "Basic Uploader" link, you get a box with the "browse" function. Clicking the Browse button will open a menu with your computer files. Run thru the files where your pics are, and click on the pic you want posted ... Click the "open" button & that should put the address/ID of the pic into the blank. Then hit "upload" :

Hey...it worked!
Yes, the system will resize your picture, but it also has a size limit on what it will resize. It's currently set to 2.4meg or 2.5 meg. I'm looking to increase it, but I have not found where the setting is. It's seems to be buried somewhere in the code. And the reason for the limit is, so the server does not get bogged down with supper large files. But I think this limit should be increased. I just have to find out where it is.
you can try this, it may help, see pictures below:

OK, I changed a setting from 2 meg to 8 meg for file upload limit. I would like someone to test this. Try to upload a 5 meg or so picture and let us know if it worked.
