    Default how long after shad kill before fish start biting again


    we had a shad kill on cheatham lake about 6 to 7 days ago. how long does it take before the fish will start biting again typically

    If there's a lot of gulls around and a good population of larger aggressive fish like rockfsh and hybrid, you're looking at about 7-10 days. Up to twice as long if you don't have an abundance of "greedy fish" as I call them.

    Depending on how widespread the kill was, it can make for some darn good fishing come spring. Probably will start seeing a lot of "floaters" here on Priest after this next fromnt moves through. Hopefully these cold spells are doing a number on the mosquito and tick population too.

    I don't think cold has much effect on mosquito population. Worse mosquitos I have ever seen was in Alaska and Montana.
