    Question Douglas this weekend?Shellcrackers?

I plan to fish Dougas Saturday and was wondering if anyone else was going to be out there. I would like to target shell crackers. Does anyone know if there are many in Douglas. I ussually just fish for crappie, but thought I would try some crackers if there are many in the lake. If anyone knows something about fishing for them on Douglas, any info would be appreciated. If not on Douglas, does anone know if cherokee has a population of them?

I've fished Douglas for years and have never caught or seen a shellcracker in there but the big gills should be right depending on the fronts!

the gills are 8 foot in every little niche and they are big as your hand and I have caught a few shells but not many up around point 12..
People may not remember exactly what you did or what you said,
but they will always remember how you made them feel

thanks guys for the info. I caught tons of big gills ready to pop. Let them all go as most were female. Caught them in 25 ft. of water over brush about 9-15 deep. couldn't find any shallow. I also caught my first crappie while trolling. I had Red sparkle/chartruese jigs with spinners and was long lining. I caught three in about a half hour. I was pleasently surprised by my first time catching fish while trolling. I still have a lot to learn. I know it all comes with time and experience. I just need to do it more.
