Hey 78mudbug...They just probably moved out into a little deeper water. They probably did not go far. Just to the closest deeper water on some kind of ledges(structure) or deeper cover (stumps or brush). That is my two cents. I am just envious of you getting to go even if you did not catch much. Hope you had a good time.
But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

    Mudbug..

I stopped off at Stewarts Ferry Park and tried my luck there on Wed...one
little "tater chip" crappie..and a few red-eyes. One guy there said he caught
50 brim the day before..a lot of them at least a pound. He only caught small
ones on Wed, too. I think the front drove them out for a while.

    Good luck!

    Unhappy

Well, this is not very good news I'm hearing, but I'm thankful for the tip. I finally got my boat back from the mechanic and, Lord willing, I am going to get to fish tomorrow morning early and Sunday afternoon for the first time in two weeks :D:D:D. I might pass on the crappie alltogether this time though. I can't quit thinking about the shellcrackers after seeing all the pictures over on the bream/panfish forum.

I have to work tomorrow (Sat) morning and then my wife and I are going to try and go out for Crappie in the afternoon. If I cant find them then I'll switch to looking for some ledges and gravel shore for them shell crackers and Gills. And if that don't work I'm gonna sling some Texas rigged worms to see if any Bass might be interested.

Funny thing happened to me and the wife last time we were out. We went out in the afternoon after she got off work, and fished out of Avondale access. We caught 1 thin Crappie around a boat dock, but couldn't scare up the female. then caught a couple of brim, then moved to another new cove( one we hadn't been in before but had been told it was good for Crappie), we fished there for awhile, caught 1 Shell Cracker. Headed back in to Dock before it got dark, and as we tied up on the dock another man and his wife were fishing about 100' off the dock. I asked how they'd been doing. He said Great! Thed'd caught about a dozen Bass, including 3 Smallies.......Just my luck, they were hitting any worm he threw at them. Guess thats my kinda luck.
