Thread: Douglas Fish Fry

Again - my apology for not showing up. Our community yard sale went very well. We had 18 homes participating and 15 more that "snuck" in when they saw the turn out. We use some of the money for the community block party, the kids raise money for the school by selling drinks (they wore out both of my golf carts) and everything that we do not sell goes to local charities. They had to bring a 32' box bed to load it all up when we were done. A lot of people benefit from this sale. I hope you can forgive me for missing this fish fry to help my wife and extended family. I am on the committee for next year - so I promise you it won't be on the same day as the fish fry.

Many of these guys have helped me find and catch fish here in TN. And I am grateful for it. They have been open and honest and willing to share what they know. I have tried to return the favor as often as I can. I'm sure they were all sharing information and answering questions all day long.

I saw a lot of children in the pictures. Great video by the way Booger . Showing the young ones what fishing is all about is great. Through events like this they see the joy, friendship and fellowship people gain from fishing. One of my personal hero's Mr. Chuck Yeager once said "There is no time when we are walking on more common ground then when we are fishing". It gives us a common thread, bond, objective to share. It brings us together. It's a wonderful thing this fishing thing :D. Regardless of the species you fish for, how you fish or where you fish knowledge is power. Sharing your knowledge makes you feel good and makes you a better person.

I hope this event continues to grow every year. I'll do my best to be a part of it.

I see yall had alot of fun with the fish fry.Me and Thrill is going to have to make plans on attending one of them soon.We talked about this one but seems we had things here to do and we was both having boat problems.Good time I see there.Way to go all that was there.
